"officials" idea that people can eat healthy diets - ie meat, veg, salad, fruit just as cheap as other things is very unrealistic - even if budgeting didn't matter to you you still wouldn't be able to do the comparison. There are so many things I can't eat because of my crohns and that means my shopping bill is more.

Aldi is not too bad, it's like our local shop as it's a minute walk from my house, you just have to go early, it is delivered fresh everyday but around here it's so busy, get a fair bit from Aldi but like everywhere the prices are rising as I am seeing on a weekly basis
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I went to Lidl at the weekend.. it was awful.. prefer Asda and Aldi. Sometimes Morrisons.. everything is rising in price so dramatically, trying to have a healthy diet is proving harder, most of the fruit I got from Lidl has ended in the bin, except the bananas, was bitter and not pleasant

Hi
During an IVA we were paying around £70-£80 per week for food, now it is around £120-£130.
You don't realise how much you do cut back in an IVA.

I have shopped at Aldi for about 6 years now (why am I in a mess then!!!). When we first started we would shop monthly and get everything apart from fresh bread/veg/fruit etc which we got weekly from local supermarket. Our shopping bill at Aldi then was about 200 a month. We changed to shopping fortnightly because couldn't face all the putting away. Our shopping fortnightly at Aldi now is around £170 (340 every 4 weeks) so that doesn't leave much for fresh stuff. So my point is even the prices at Aldi have risen dramatically.
