Hey Melanie, #13;#10; Apart from the gorgeous developments going on personally elsewhere, i need some sound advice. We have just been informed( nurses home residents) that we will be moved over to the new keyworker homes from the end of March. That is a full 6 months than previously planned.I have to find one months deposit and one months rent in advance. I also need to inform my IP that my rent will increase and that i will be paying council tax. My outgoings are going to increase, and i'm not sure in what order to do things now. I'm actually pretty worried that my IVA will fail, as i'm quite settled into it, and feel i made the right decision in going for an IVA, in retrospect. Please help before i start panicking.
Hi
I'm sure that melanie will be able to help.
A payment break should help with the deposit and rent upfront.
It may be possible to reduce your monthly payments to take into account the increased rent and council tax costs
Regards
Thanks very much Andy, I'm actually writing a nice letter to my IP now, obviously i do not want my IVA to fail, and i'm anxious not to be punished for changes out of my control either.
I am sure you will be fine Quark, it's just come a little sooner than expected, that's all.
Your IP company will probably be sympathetic, as emma_t says - it's in no ones interests for it to fail.

Thanks Jan. I don't mean to sound arrogant, but i'm no mood to deal with a big IVA firm that may not even hear me out. I don't quite know what has for sure shifted in me, but i feel fierce, fearless and positive. Probably something to do with being romanced off my feet. I read the post from ladyh and felt so sad for her my heart sank, and i'm just in no mood to be bullied or punished by a big outfit. I wish i'd gone with Melanie. She and her firm seem to have what it takes to get people through their IVA's with the personal touch. If mine fails, then it's BR. Unless Melanie comes to the rescue in her cha cha heels (?)
I'll keep everything crossed that you get a positive outcome Quark.

Hi Quark - sorry I have not been ignoring you, but a little busy at the back end of the day.
The first thing that I would do is write to your IP to advise them that you expect to suffer a change in circumstances which may affect to pay your contributions at current levels in the future.
You must not miss on a great opportunity to move into a new home - which sounds fabulous, but it will be difficult to budget for your new costs until you have been there for a couple of months.
Once you know what your new disposable income figure will be, you can then provide more detailed information to your IP - and really determine whether you can afford to carry on making the payments. As your priorities have recently changed (you lucky thing!) it may now be time to re-prioritise your debt repayment plans as well.
Remember that bankrutpcy proceedings are not as bad as you might originally have thought, and they would bring a real fresh start for you - so worthy of consideration if you need to.
Andy gave you good advice. Did you ring your IP the day before yesterday? If you went through all your new figures a variation might be possible - don't necessarily give up before submitting all the facts - if you have a problem with your IP contact me and I'll see if I can help. Good luck.
