I opened a Metro bank account whilst still in my iva however, I applied for the cash account which offers the basics. you get internet banking, a MasterCard debit card and you can pay someone via the website once youre account is up and running!.
They do print your card and cheque book there and then (if applicable which I didn't request) and if you request a credit card they even do that for you whist you wait.. Brilliant!... even Sundays and bank holidays they are open. its worth doing and cheaper than any "pay as you go" cards.
I opened my account as an extra security in case my bank got wind of my iva.
