i have been in my IVA now for 2 years and although i have never missed a payment, i was able to make reduced payments for 3months to replace a boiler that broke.

currently at work, they are making several cut backs and redunancys, not only does this make me nervous as does it everyone else. I have
checked to see if my insurane covers for this like this and thankfully it does.

my question is- i have been offered a job, and the money is going to be a lot better- it is for a family friend, this job offers everything i have always wanted, the only condition is - i have to fund a course at college. My course and exam together is nearly £400. I pay £300 a month. if i could miss a payment and book this, then my problem will be solved.

Pls can i have some advise to the likelihood this will be excepted.

Many thanks

Hi r_l

You should speak to your IP to discuss this issue as they will be able to assess the impact a missed payment would have on your IVA. If you are likely to have more disposable income once you start the new job you will be able to make up the missed payment, although they may also want to review the level of your monthly contributions if this increase is significant.

I'm sure your IP will be reasonable, so the best thing to do is discuss it with him as soon as possible.

Hope this helps

This sounds like a fairly reasonable request and you will need to put this to your IP as soon as you can to guage their opinion on this.

If I were your IP I would agree to this request. It may well be in creditors interests at the end of the day, and you can always make up the payment at the end of the arrangement.

Good luck with your future plans. This seems to be an excellent opportunity for you.

Hi r_l,

Contact your I.P to discuss the best way forward, I would think that it shouldn't be a problem as it is to gain a better job with increased income which hopefully for the creditors would mean more money into the IVA.
