You have £1000 to lose!

As I said it costs nothing to complete the forms yourself, plus £495 for the court fees. Did BAIC say whether the £1000 includes the court fees?

Please don't waste your money on something you can do yourself if necessary.

Can I just say that you can do the BR yourself for much less but it is your choice at the end of the day.

A possible problem may occur if your in an IVA as the insolvency service are aware of companies like BAIC and to try to deal with the problem these companies cause, may not grant a BR order.

Hey biggerstuff, just be careful, as there is nothing wrong with paying for help to fill the forms out if that's what you need, but these people charge a fortune and claim that they can get your IVA money back for you and repair your credit rating, they CAN'T!

OK thanks for the advice on BAIC but I'm still unsure as to the bankruptcy option, obviously BE aren't going to advise me to go down this line because of losing their fees but does anyone think that this is the way to go for my circumstances. I just need some impartial advise before I have another heart attack!

I think you first of all need to speak to your IP and explain the circumstances, but make sure you speak to him personally. You will have to let your IVA fail anyway if you want to go bankrupt as a lot of courts won't do it without you failing.

BE should explain all your options to you, and they will advise you about bankruptcy if that is best for you.

Was there a reason you didnt think of the BR option prior to going for an IV??

BE wont want to advise you to go BR because yes they will lose out on fees, but for that reason alone you will find that by talking to your IP direct(if you can),should sort things out for you.

You may be surprised. I didn't expect to be advised to go bankrupt when I told my IP I was struggling, but he told me BR would be my best option, and guided me through it.

Good luck, and please ask any questions you might have and we'll all try and help you x

The reason I went for an IV was I was just browsing BE website looking for advice and there was an online form to fill in that offered instant advice, I filled it in and it said that an IV was my best option and then within one minute the phone rang and suprise suprise it was BE

Hi there again Biggerstuff.

We are debtors too or used to be, so we want to help you. In my opinion your health is the most important thing in all of this, if that means a big heave ho for the IVA then thats the way to go. I filled in one of those wizzard things on some site or other, just idle thumbs and curious and I used high income, benefit income, very low income and no income and guess what? IVA came out as the best option every time, I havent a clue why.

So the first thing is to speak to the monkey as you put it and if you have and there is no joy go for BR. Thats all you can do. If youre not here through a heart attack they wont get their fees either, will they? So put yourself first, youre worth more than a thousand times of what you owe.

Good luck and best wishes.

Thanks biggerstuff. I'm sure all the other firms which have ceased to exist come from there as well.

Thanks for that Lily. I haven't got a problem trying to pay back as much as I can but how I got here is a long story which I won't bore you with but although some of it was my own fault a lot of it wasn't so some of the creditors have to share the blame.

We're all the same biggerstuff. We all took the money that the creditors threw at us, one of mine even tried to get me to take out another loan just to pay them off, even though they knew I was in financial trouble!
