That's a bit mean isn't it Mrs S? I have a contract pre-IVA and kept it but never use my allowances, which is why I let daughter use a lot of them, however she gets up to mischief via the internet on it so she's slowly losing her privilege

Well it's looking as though I might stay with Vodafone as after looking at my price plan, and other ones out there I realised I haven't got a bad deal after all!

At the moment I get 225 minutes and 250 texts for £25 a month. As part of my plan I also have Stop the Clock, which means that if I make a call in the evening or at the weekend I only use 3 of my free minutes for the call, providing the call doesn't last longer than 1 hour. So if I only use the phone then, I get a lot of free calls!

I just wish they had decent customer services, but I don't want to change providers and end up paying more!

I see what you're saying Skippy, I guess I've just always been with 02 and never even considered changing, their customer care is good, I contact them by email and always receive a reply almost straightaway.

Oh forgot to say often if you tell them you're leaving they'll find you a better deal for sure!

A little delayed in the response

Two companies I would NEVER do business with are Orange and Virgin. Never ever ever never

O2 have been 1st class, they are a UK based call centre (In Scotland I think). A nice few little extra's with O2. They have their own pay as you go top up Visa card for O2 customers only, with no top up fees. And you can get cheap broadband as a customer. So if you do change give them a looksie
There are 10 kinds of people that understand binary, those that do and those that don't

I decided to stay with Vodafone in the end and upgraded to a Sony Ericsson C905. I wanted to change, but I really couldn't see anyone else letting me take out a contract. The other option was for Dave to take out a contract in my name, but I didn't want to change my number!

I could have had the phone free if I switched to a 24 month contract, but I decided to pay £30 for it as it worked out cheaper over the length of the contract.

It's not the prettiest phone in the world but the camera is almost as good as my 'proper' camera.

I'm glad you like the phone Ladyh as I've read some bad reviews about it and I was a bit worried! I think the camera is fantastic.

They weren't too generous with the memory card unfortunately as they only gave me 2gb, but that's 2gb more than they gave Dave with his C902!

That's a really good tariff, better than mine. I get 250 texts and 225 minutes a month, but I also have their Stop the Clock package free, which means I only use 3 of my free minutes per call at the evening and weekends.

I've got the Samsung Pixon. Love it, I'm so used to touch screen phones now that I would struggle with a normal one I think.

I love the 8 megapixel camera as well, took some decent pictures on holiday with that.

I get 1200 minutes and 1000 texts a month, plus a free bolt on of unlimited web access. That costs me £40 a month.

The downside is that I had to do a 2 year contract!

No wonder she keeps posting what she does on FB!

I never use all my alowances either, but do find it very useful to have it there, especially if the home hub goes pear shaped!

I'm afraid I love to have the latest model of phone and will always have a contract. As it's included in my IVA - why not?

My husband doesn't have a phone now only a work phone which he doesn't pay a penny towards and my daughter pays for her phone herself (or uses my allowance)! and so I thought I don't drink, I don't smoke, I live frugally in respect of clothes etc., I'm treating myself, I think every so often in an IVA you need to, I'm sure if I had pay as you go I'd spend a tenner a week at least on calls as my working hours are so erratic and I'm always calling home so my mind justifies it by saving a fiver a month on contract and the phone came free x

I always like a nice phone as well, and £25 a month is reasonable.

I found out after I upgraded that Vodafone will be doing the iPhone next year. I know I would have had to change my tariff, but part of me wishes I'd waited!

I am pleased with the C905 though, I was playing about with it last night and I can't get over how good the camera is. My next job is to work out how to put music on it...

I wish I'd kept a contract phone, it was one of the first things to go when we tried to cut back on monthly outgoings pre IVA. I've been knocked back by Orange to try and top up my daughters phone monthly, can't understand why if I'm putting the money on before it's used??

We all have PAYG phones, but I miss the upgrades, now it's ebay for me and the wife (when you lot have all upgraded [;)]) Daughter usually gets one from wifes' parents at christmas.

I think one of the big companies is missing a huge gap in the market, people in IVA's would be ideal for contract as they have to budget more, just limit their monthly payment to about £20, if the monthly payment is in advance - it's not credit surely - any thoughts on this.
