Hi everyone
Not posted for a while, but been reading.
Been busy at work too.
Well 6 months into our IVA and I must say everything is going brilliant, had no massive drama's yet !! and life is 100% better.

Anyway one of our Mobile phone contracts is up for renewal on the 20th June with O2. Do you think they will renew ok, has anyone else renewed and had any problems.

I think if you stay with the same provider you should be ok, only have trouble if you try to change to a new provider. It's the case with vodafone anyway
We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.

Hi Caraf and welcome back! I don't think you'll have a problem renewing the contract - I was able to renew mine when I was in my IVA and also while I was still BR. I think the only problem you would have is if you tried to switch mobile companies.

I'm glad your IVA is going well for you, it's nice to hear when things work out x

Hi,

I'm with O2 and there is no problem renewing/upgrading as they don't do a proper credit check.

As long as your payment history with them is okay you'll be fine :o)

Hi animaleyes76
Thank you for that. Can I ask when you upgraded and where you already in your IVA. Do they do a credit check to renew ?

I renewed about 12 months ago and would have been about 7/8 months into my IVA.

They won't do any type of credit check at all. As long ass you've been okay with them you should be fine. I'd had outgoing calls barred about 15 times during the period b4 upgrading and there was no problem.

Just call the upgrade line and speak to them after checking out what you want on the website and they will sort it out, no questions asked, and no need to even mention IVA

ps apologies my post was a bit unclear.. not sure why "as long" appeared in it lol. Edited in any case. You'll be fine :o)

I was DMP when I got a new contract. Have been with 02 for years and my contract had run out. Just phoned up and no problem at all.

What happens if you have a 'pay as you go' and wish to change to a contract? Is this a completly different scenario?

I think you'd find it very difficult to take out a new contract when you are in an IVA.

I think if you are already in a contract, then no problem renewing with the same operator as long as you have had no problems with your payments.

If you are trying to change onto a contract I would think it would be hard as they will credit check and your rating will be shot to pieces.
