I should be receiving my certificate of completion for my IVA in the next few weeks. Have been looking at a contract mobile and wondered if they are likely to accept me. Defaults won't be removed until April next year so they would show on any credit check. I think I already know the answer but have been disputing it with my husband. Thank you in advance for any replies.

If you've already got a contract, then you will be able to renew with the same company. If not, you may find it difficult, but you can always ask.

Make sure that you have checked your credit rating now you have completed and get any defaults registered after the date of your IVA removed by the creditors.

If you can hang on unil next April, you should be able to get one no problem then.

Never had a contract so it would be new. Think I will wait until April, better that than be refused. Thank you for the advice about defaults, will get onto that.

You'll need to contact all three agencies - Equifax, Experian and Call Credit and get a copy of your records to see what they have recorded against you.

Great, thank you. Still doesn't seem real that we've done it and the IVA is over. I wish I had found this site sooner, you are all so lovely and helpful.

It's always worth trying. They can only say no.

If you are changing providers, I don't think applying online will make any difference as they will still credit check.

Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

Remember as well that even after the defaults are off the CRF's you may still be refused depending on the lending criteria.
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
Continuing to rebuild our credit worthiness.
