Hi Eveveryone,
A year into our IVA and boy its tough. Much more difficult than I ever imagined.
Anyway, a quick question, my wifes mobile phone contract ends soon, so we are looking for a deal.Is this possible in an IVA or will it have to be a pay as you go.
If anyone has managed to obtain a contract can they recommend the companies used. obviously the phone is worked into our IVA so payments are already included.
Thanks

You should be fine if you stay with your existing provider although it may be difficult to move. Other posters may be able to recommend companies.

I found it impossible to get any of the big 4 with a new contract so i kept with my existing provider and took the free upgrade, i have stayed with O2 since, Tesco Mobile are quite competitive on PAYG.

I'm with O2 and have managed to renew whilst in an IVA.

They will only check that your account has been kept up to date so you should have no problems.

I also stayed with O2 when my contract ended in May. I phoned to find out what their best deal was and quoted some of the other providers. I definitely got value for money.

Upgrades = No problem
Getting a new contract = Not impossible but difficult. I'm led to believe that mobile phone companies only do an electorol role check on you when you take out a new contract. I don't believe that for a second!!

A new company will do a credit check. If it was only an electoral check then we would all be able to change.

I've been with O2 pre IVA and have stayed with them throughout with no problems.

They did ask me a few years ago if I wanted an Iphone but there would be a further credit check, so I said no!

I decided against a Iphone, purely because of the cost of the phone and the fact that my tariff would have gone up.

I might have a look again next year when I come to renew.

If I had wanted one it would have cost me £45 on top of a higher tariff. I always go for a free phone!

Will be glad when I can upgrade mine!

Mine was totally free, unsure why it's only the basic model but does the job for me x

I'm with Vodafone and I've been able to upgrade while I was in an IVA and also when I was BR.
