Do I need to let Vodafone know that I am bankrupt? They are not one of my creditors and the OR was happy for me to keep my contract even though it is £35 per month - she didn't even ask about it as I claimed as telephone expenses. What I don't want is for Vodafone to suddenly find out I am bankrupt and cut me off! If they are likely to do that I would rather tell them and know what's happening!

Hi Skippy,

My other half has a contract with Orange and i dont see why we have to tell them that we are BR unless they ask, it would be difficult to move to a different user as it would show up on the credit file. It would be good to know.

(I apologise for my keyboards poor spelling and grammar)

I've never missed a payment with Vodafone so I don't see that it should be a problem - fingers crossed!

Ut oh, I was able to keep my mobile as well and never informed O2. My OR didn't inform me to disclose the BR to O2. I better check with them as well. Thanks skippy13.

I agree with the others that there is no reason to tell vodaphone. However, you may have difficulty if you choose to take out a different contract with another provider as they would likely credit score you.

I'm more than happy to stay with Vodafone as they have the best reception where I live. Thanks for putting my mind at rest!

I think as they only do a credit check before giving you a contract that you will be fine, as long as your monthly payments are made. I cant imagine them searching the insolvency register to get shot of good customers...

I took over my phone with 02 as my employers used to pay it. The contract was up in March and they said that I had failed the credit check, so I told them I would go pay as you go. My payments are by DD and are always on time, they said they were happy to renew the contract. I had a shiny new phone. My credit rating is megga crap.

I think a few of us on this site might fail a credit check, you are not alone there! :-) I think you would be fine if you stay on the same contract with the same company post br, the problem will be when you try and switch from it, as then you would be subject to another credit check.

Vodafone gave me a nice new phone back in December when I was in my IVA, so I don't think they look too closely if you are already a customer - fingers crossed!
