Do not carry more than a few pounds in loose change around in your pockets. Apart from having to repair the holes it makes in your pockets, it is so easy to impulse buy that big bar of chocolate or this months "whatever" magazine, and, before you know it, a fiver has evapourated into thin air !!!
Oh ... and workplace lunches .... make the sarnies at home. They will cost a fraction of even the "meal deals" at the supermarket (and taste better too) !

Do the food shop online - set your budget & stick to your budget resist all the naughty offers cookies doughnuts ect
Own brand Supermarket products - you save a fortune not all great but things like tinned tomatoes/beans/soups it all adds up to a goo saving.
Ditch the car for the school run if you have time - has given me 40 minutes a day exercising and a nice opportunity to have nice chats with my son whilst he has his head out of technology!!
put a set amount away each month for Christmas and buy presents throughout the year instead of waiting until last minute - also buy all your wrapping paper & card in the Jan sales you get the for pence.
Learn to say no & don't feel guilty for this... it will make your little people better people.

I never do food shop online - make a list and pretty much stick to it.
Never do 'naughty' stuff as I don't eat anything sweet at all. Do some own brands (tinned toms and kidney beans) but baked beans have to be Branston.
As to Christmas - I do loads of online surveys, convert them into vouchers and it's covered for me. Come October I will apply for the vouchers and I am done!!

Don't feel ashamed by shopping in Aldi, all your friends do they just wouldn't admit it! A £40 shop in Aldi is the best part of £50-60 in Asda-Tesco. We still use Aldi as the produce is as good as brand name (there are exceptions).
Look in your local free ads paper where the Thrift shops are and their opening times. You will be amazed at how many clothes are donated still in brand new condition and still in manufacturers packaging. All my work clothes are Thrift shop "cast offs". Same applies with local Charity shops, just get used to browsing 2 -3 times a week.
See if any of your friends do Park vouchers or High Street vouchers, saving up for Christmas by putting away £10- £15 a month soon mounts up and with it being in a savings club you can't be tempted to raid it.

Have to say that having shopped at Lidl and Aldi I do not like either of them - give me the big ones any day!

I am an aldi convert! Having always shopped at Sainsbury I started to visit a local aldi. Fruit and veg fantastic and lasts longer than Sainsbury. Also great rang of continental meats and cheeses. Save myself £40 per week. Think some of more up market supermarkets have lost out to them looking at top range cars in their car parks !!
Instead of driving somewhere that's under a mile distance,walk,saves a few pennies in petrol and you get fit.
Go to supermarkets when the price down fresh products,I have morrisons and tescos down to a tee in my town,I finished the iva almost a year ago but still wander over to get the bargain's
Make sure you conserve your gas and electricity and your bills will come down and you can keep the cash,when I started the iva G and E were £120 a month by the time we finished we had it down to £68
