There is no need to pay things like that. I suggest that you seek advice elsewhere. Does this firm have an in-house IP, or were they just going to refer you to one?

I'd give them a wide berth!

Speak to other companies. Cleardebt and Melanie are highly recommeded. I would not use Moneyexpert and would ring up and cancel there visit before they try and force you into something.

Also you mention cleardebt is local to you. Your provider doesnt need to be local unless you would prefer to see them face to face.

I cannot remember the name of the company I initially contacted but it was similar to original poster. They sent a rep out he told me it was imposible for me to be accepted into an IVA. 15 into my IVA with Melanie as my IP........I rest my case!

Have a chat with a couple of IP's make sure you're not given conflicting advice. A good IP will always be honest and upfront about your individual case.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I am with them and they have been okay. No problems. I paid them the first payment when the IVA had been accepted.

They refer you to a company called Expert Financial solutions. Like I say they have been absolutely fine but I have not needed to talk to them about any problems.

No not at all. They asked if I could pay the first ppayment upfront to show creditors my commitment to the IVA. I said no, they said okay and I paid it when the IVA was accepted.

All I would say that if you're not happy or have reservations, look at another company.

thats good info rockstarloz The iva runs for 5 years usually and people need to feel comfortable they have chosen the right IP.I have David Mond so no worries. A lot of posters are using Melanie Giles who also comes highly recommended by the forum.
