I think on the whole local authorities do a good job but an experience I had with the in-laws house left them with a recently re-decorated living room wall turned into a dart board as they attempted to re-wire the electrics! They have just had some lovely new double glazed windows installed though that will save them a fortune in winter months!

Housing repairs bod is coming out to see me next week ... with a view to trying to solve the problems. He did offer me £27 disturbance allowance ... which might pay for a new microwave. I told him the restaurant bill woould be that a day. I think he thought I was joking. Then there is having to travel 20 miles at least twice just to launder our clothes and linen. Innit ganna be fun, like LOL. the problems of living to far from relatives is a nightmare ... not that my daughter offered to put us up though.

Hi
It is illegal to leave you without a source drinking water - and it is unlikely that all the electricity in the house would have to be shut off, should only need pull the fuse for the kitchen, and then only when the are messing with the electrics. When my parents had their kitchen done a couple of years back they just decamped the microwave to the lounge, and used an old camping gas hob to cook veg etc.

I don't have, nor do I want, a microwave. The kitchen is a total refit and re wiring and will take a week because all of the appliances including the cooker need to be resited. I'm not complaining just to exercise my fingers Sol. I have been into this with the parties concerned and I will be without cooking and refrigeration facilities for at the minimum 5 days

Just caught up with this Ray and I think it is disgusting the way they are treating you.
