Ang, I've just caught up with this.

Sorry things haven't worked out quite as planned, I hope he can sort a new job soon.

It's not good. My thoughts are with you.

well further update:-

still no criteria for redundancies!! loads have put in for voluntary (even the union reps).. If he keeps his job they want paycuts, less shift allowance, overtime will be paid in toil and no uplift for continentals.. so which ever way we stuck!!!!

life is just so rubbish!!!

It is hideous to read another employer holding their employees over a barrel - but what can anyone do apart from hang on and hope for the best. I really hope that G will be OK in all of this Ang - and that his employers will remember how supportive he has been when things brighten up again - which they are bound to once this country starts trading again.

thanks everyone, still no news but they've changed criteria re sickness and made that factory wide, which hopefully will be better. They don't even know what is happening with dayshift as yet.. and then they get told all the big directors have paid themselves millions of pounds in shares.. doesn't figure does it!!!

That's a disgrace Ang - I really don't know how they can sleep at night after giving themselves all that when the poor workers haven't a clue what is going on!

At least he does still have a job at the moment which is good, and fingers crossed he keeps it.

he's had a few responses from agency to his CV Julie done for him, but he can't justify leaving a permanent job (for now) for agency work!!!

Hope he can either keep this job or find another permanent one close by.
