Hi all,
I have been in a IVA for 2 years now, and at the moment i have been paying rent 490 a month. There has recently been a death in the family, and a close relative has come into money. They have told me that they would be willing to pay a house deposite for me. Lookinag at some websites and quick calcuations it seems that if i was to get a moratge i might pay less than my current rent. I only only looking at a cheap house 2 bedroom on the market for 80,000. For which my relative would be willing to give me (gift) 15000 towards a depsoite.
So iam wondering firstly would this be allowed under a IVA. If so what would the chances be of getting a mortage and who would be the best companys to speak to.

I hope that all makes sense,
Thanks for you help

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your loss.

You may struggle to get a mortgage whilst in an IVA, particularly with a low deposit.

Speak to Ryan, a mortgage broker who posts on here. His details can be found under the 'Ask a Question' link on the left hand of the page. Give him a ring and he will give you some advice.
