So the IVA is now finished, I have a mortgage with my ex partner and I want his name off as soon as possible. He's agreed to sign it over to me and I can more than afford it on my own. Everything looks good on paper until it comes to my credit history. Will I have to wait til next year when my history is clear or is there something I can do about it now (well once I have the completion certificate) Can anyone help???

Hi Sharon.

Perhaps make an anonymous call to your provider to see what their stance is on you taking things on now?

Hi Kallis3
I did phone them a couple of months ago to see what the procedure was to take his name off. I didn't mention the IVA. They went through everything but they mentioned the Credit Check and I know that until next year that will come back with a fail.
I just wondered if there were any other companies out there that specialise in Mortgages for people that have been in an IVA.

I know Luluj has managed to get a mortgage and Andy Davie has said that he is hoping to get a broker on board soon as an expert so hopefully that will be before next year!

Hi LuluJ I have been in contact with Ryan and started the ball rolling. Thanks for your recommendation. I'll keep you updated. I'm pretty confident after just talking to him on the phone that he'll be able to help :)

Hi LuluJ I've spoken to Ryan at length and he's had a good look at my situation. It's as I thought it's best for me to wait until next year when my credit file is clear. It's not impossible to do it now but he advised me against it as it would cost me a fortune with the interest rate being sky high.
I can't thank you enough for recommending him. It was really good to talk to someone who knew what I was talking about and who didn't talk to me like a criminal. I can relax a bit now only 10 months to go :)
