I have come to te Enid my mortgage deal and despite having a clean history for a year post Iva I noticed that most banks will not let anyone apply for a mortgage who had an iva. I am wondering how I can go about getting a mortgage? The bank I am with will offer me a deal but won't lend me more. I am looking to upgrade my house. Can one no the experts provide any help?

Have all defaults / mention of iva totaly gone from your file ?

What equity have you currently got in your property ? You will need the equivalent of about 25% i believe to use as a deposit.

Ryan or Shaun should be able to give you specific advice on this

Hi,
As Luluj mentioned, you will need to ensure all your credit files are clear before applying for a new mortgage. These are free, normally and easy to obtain.
Once you have these, and they are all clean, get in touch with a Whole of market broker who specialises in dealing with people in your position.
I am sure something can be done

Obtaining a copy of your credit file, if you haven't already done it is certainly a good place to start. Try www.noddle.co.uk if not, its' free for life (I use it myself). You'll need to think in terms of a minimum deposit of 15% although there are potential solutions even if your credit file isn't entirely clear. It really just depends on your individual circumstances.

My credit file is clean with no defaults and a prefect history since I started using cards again.

The 15% could be an issue....
