I know I should post this on the Bankruptcy forum, but I need an answer urgently!

I live with Dave in his flat which he bought 5 years ago, and I have been living with him for just over a year. The mortgage and all the bills are in his name, and I pay £200.00 'rent', half the bills and buy the food and he pays everything else. Doing it this way works out at about half each.

Dave now wants to move to be nearer his elderly mother. I won't be on the mortgage for obvious reasons and I will carry on paying the same amount even if there are any increases in mortgage, bills etc.

What I really want to know is if this is likely to cause a problem with the OR. I have no beneficial interest in the flat, so I am presuming it will be the same if we move.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

I can't see that it would cause a problem - if Dave needs to move to be nearer his mum I haven't really got a lot of choice if I want a roof over my head!

Not too far, but we'll only be 2 minutes from his mum then, and 5 from mine. Dave's mum is 88 and mine is 76, so it would be nice to be a bit closer, especially as Dave's mum has heart problems.

Dave can do what he likes with his asset and this is not affected by his bankruptcy, so you are free to move without any problems.

Yep, he's more careful than me, although it sounds as though I might get the ultimate punishment - his mother only 2 minutes away...

Hi Skippy,

If your outgoings increase would you have to inform the OR ar you may be able to get a reduction on the IPO, I was informed by mine should my financial circumstances change during the year i was to inform them obivously I am not paying an IPO but if i have more disposable income then i will have to inform them for instance when i finally move my rent will be cheaper than my mortgage.

(I apologise for my keyboards poor spelling and grammar)

Hi Coco, to be honest my outgoings shouldn't change too much, so hopefully all I will need to inform the OR about is the change of address. If I find I am struggling I will contact the OR, but I'll see what happens.
