Anyone had any experience of either moving in with partner or changing jobs or both while in an IVA?

Does the iva "go against" your new address? And will my partner be drawn into it? Although all the debts are my own debts.

Also moved jobs on a lower wage, does this reduce my monthly payment?

Any advice would be much appreciated

Thanks

Hi and welcome,

There have been lots of posters who have married, moved in with a partner and moved jobs with no problems and I'm sure some of them will be along to tell how it was for them.

Your partner will only be involved in as much as his income will be taken into account for the household bills so that you are both seen to be paying your fair share into the house.

You would need to discuss the lower salary to your IP - they can reduce your payments by up to 15% without going back to the creditors.

Hi Magpie - unless you have financial connection with you partner - they wont be involved with it.

You need to inform your IP. You outgoing may drop as some costs you will be sharing. Also your income has dropped. A new I+E form may needed to be submitted.

First step, contact your IP straight away
