I open a bank account before my iva only £90 went into the bank. I tried to use the ATM a few mo the later and it would not work I went into the bank and they say the card as been blocked and I cannot get this £90 out until I send them letters from receivers saying they gave no interest in thus money

Hi there and welcome. Which bank? I know some banks do close/freeze accounts when they know you're in an IVA. Your IP should have really advised you to open a new bank and hopefully one which is IVA friendly.

HSBC and First Direct are known to close accounts, while others are IVA friendly.

IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi and welcome,

If it's either HSBC or First Direct they are well known for closing accounts.

Co-op are usually pretty good.

Go back in and tell them there ARE NO Receivers -- you are in an IVA not bankrupt -- hopefully you will speak to someone who knows their job.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

You need to ask your IP to confirm they have no interest in the funds.

Did you declare the £90 as part of your IVA proposals?

Other than the wrong terminology this could be an asset due into the IVA unless the debtor disclosed it and it was exempt from the assets as part of the terms.

Have you opened a new account? You should have no more money paid into that one unless and until you are sure the same won't happen again.

If you haven't opened a new account then you need to, just in case. Any basic account will do, apart from anyone you owe money to, but if it is urgent, or you are struggling to open a new one, then you could do worse than look here https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j ... 9774,d.ZGg
