Well it has been confirmed today that my beloved Pompey have gone into Administration today.
Quite ironic, that I am in an IVA, and now my team can't pay it's bills either!
I for one wil be glad that we get relegated from the Premiership - unless you are one of the chosen top 4, you stand no hope!
We just hope that we get bought, otherwise this is the least of our worries.
Sorry I know it's nothing to do with an IVA, but know there are some good football fans on here.

Kath.

I'm sorry to see Pompey go into administration as I've always had a soft spot for them.

I have no sympathy whatsoever for successive owners who have allowed this to happen, but I feel sorry for the fans who are some of the most loyal around.

I also feel sorry for Avram Grant, who always comes across as a decent man (a very rare thing in football these days!) and who was treated appallingly by Chelski. I hope he stays and manages to turn things round next season.

Hi
Yes I feel very sorry for you fans Kal you have always been a very loyal bunch.
It is very hard for the smaller teams in the premeirship, it did not do my team much good (Norwich) as we are now it league one! However hopefully we will be welcoming you at Carrow road next season, sorry can't see you avoiding relagation. There is always a good atmosphere when we play you.
Linda

I can't really feel sorry for overpaid footballers and God knows there are too many of them about, it's the people who work behind the scenes that don't get paid who are the real victims and the good supporters who pay their hard earned cash to watch, they have my sympathy. Only time will tell if this is a one-off or not and when football clubs continue to become money making playthings for the mega rich it's a recipe for disaster.
I do hope Pompey bounce back though.
Has anyone thought of digging up the mound in front of the goal to see if the money is buried there [:D]
If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back.

I can't help thinking that this could be the first of many. Man Utd and Liverpool are up to their eyes in debt, and I'm sure they're not the only ones.

I got told yesterday, true or not, that football clubs in administration have the players wages as a priority over the Tax man and Inland Revnue wheras an everyday company, some of which i'm sure post on his site, are just the opposite and that is covered by law!!!
National sport or not, doesn't seem fair to me.

Sadly yes. I keep hoping that someone who actually likes football will buy United!

At least Staines Town are owned by a true fan!

Liverpool had the chance to sell to Steve Morgan, Liverpool fan and Scouser, but went for the 'KERRCHING' option instead. Football was never in the equation!!

I think you are right that we may not be the last for this to happen to.
Unfortunately we are the first in the Premiership...so kinda being made an example of - which in fairness we deserve....if you can't keep your finances in order then you have to pay the price.
But...as with everything, it't not the people in charge who suffer...they walk away, and into another club, or job....wheras us poor fans are left to pick up the pieces.
Avram Grant is becoming abit of an icon in these parts, for his passion he shows...and today after a great victory away to Burnley, he again speaks his mind (whether you agree with him or not).
Yes we will go down, but I look forward to some good games in the 'proper' league!

I admire your spirit kal but to be fair a football club should never be put in this predicament no matter what league they are in.

I wonder what is the criteria of the FA's 'Fit and Proper Person' test.....it obviously isn't that they have enough money to take the club forward...as our last 2 owners passed this...and were as skint as can be!!!!

I've been wondering that for a long time - remember a certain previous Man City owner?
