Danny I spoke to three IP's before Melanie and your right it is not always mentioned. The advice of going interest only on my mortgage was only mentioned by Tina at Melanie Giles Team. I suppose it all depends on individual circumstances.
I came into this world with nothing and still have most of it left!

So if I agreed to change my mortgage to interest only then there is a better chance of getting the IVA with Northern Rock.

No, the OR won't contact your employer. You will probably get a Nil Tax Code, meaning that you won't pay any tax for the remainder of the tax year, but it will be collected on behalf of the OR.

Your employer may know why this has happened, but if anything is said you could always say that there was a problem with your tax code and it's being amended.

Apparently not all bankruptcies are now advertised in the local paper now, it's at the discretion of the OR.

Mine was in the paper, and it was a tiny advert lost at the back of the paper near the adult ads - if anyone had said anything to me I was going to ask them what they were doing looking in that section!

I've not seen one in our local paper for months to be honest, not that I look but our paper is so thin you can read it back to front in half an hour!
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I think it is fairly easy to do regardless of which company you are with.

Just give them a ring. I don't think it takes long for them to do it.

Thanks Michael for all your help. Cannot login to the sister site about bankruptcy for some reason. Does anybody know if my wife and I opened up a cashminder account before we went bankrupt and changed everything over would they freeze our account or could we carry on using it as normal.

Hi Danny

You need to register on the sister site - it doesn't take long.

You can open a new account before you go BR, just highlight the matter on the forms that the basic account has been newly opened.

Check out Skippy's blog, she's posted alot of really helpful information.

If it was frozen, the OR would soon get in touch with the bank to tell them that they weren't interested in it.

The Co-op are brilliant with BR people.
