My husband is an IFA with a large bank. Will getting an IVA mean he is unable to practise?

Hello there.

If he is employed directly by the bank then the first thing he needs to do is to contact his HR department, this can be done anonymously, and ask the question directly as to whether an IVA will affect his employment. Once the answer is given then the answer to the problem may become clearer.

Hi there
I agree that your husband should contact his HR department and also check his employment contract for any clause concerning insolvency. He may have difficulty in proposing an IVA if he is a licenced IFA as the licensing body usually withdraw the licence if a member is insolvent. he neds to verify his employment position before seeking a solution
