I think the short answer Sue is that many are just too busy to vote on each proposal. It is actually quite usual for a small number of creditors to vote the first time around and if needs be your IP can contact your other creditors and will usually have connections within the different companies whom they can contact in order to obtian a vote.

I think what has happened is that your meeting has been adjourned. This is likely to be becasue your IP hasn't been able to secure enough votes for your proposal due to a low number of creditors voting. The good news is that this often happpens in an IVA proposal and your IP will now been working to secure the necessary votes to get your proposal through. As I said this happens in many IVAs so you shouldn't worry yourself too much over it. I understand that ideally you would have had a big YES result today but keep hanging on in their and trust your IP to work on your behalf.

Sue, why not give your IP a call and say that you are not sure of what is happening.

Sounds like you are going through what happened to me. They ended up adjourning it for two weeks and I had to give some major concessions but they got a certain group to vote in favour at the last minute which made the difference. Hopefully something like that will happen for you.

As Oliver says your meeting has been adjourned to allow the IP to rally some more support for you from the non voting creditors. This is quite normal, and they do know what they are doing. Have faith and I am sure that it will all work out for you in the end.

I may be misunderstanding this but if 2 voted no and the others didn't vote aren't the none votes counted as agreeing?

If they had been yes votes but as they were no it doesnt work like that . The ip needs to get yes votes as a majority to get the iva through.
Correct me if wrong.
