I didn't post the date and time as I was a bit superstitious and worried about jinxing it!

It was today at 2pm and bar some modifications (they wanted more money which I expected) it was all agreed.

Massive sigh of relief and a huge huge thanks to Melanie and everyone else at the IVA Advice Bureau - in particular Tina who took the first (hysterical)telephone call and subsequently saw me through the worst night of my life when I told my husband the amount of debt I was in.

Still, onwards and upwards - we're still married and he still loves me (and he now asks about the finances!!!)

Thanks everyone - and anyone who hasn't made the call - make it - it really does get better and Melanie and her team are first class - you can't go wrong. Plus I had a lovely trip to Cardiff to meet Melanie who was so lovely - not one person has ever judged.

So go on, pick up the phone!!

I was delighted to get the news today that your case was accepted, and I do think that the creditors have been relatively fair - albeit I would have liked to have seen the original calculatons stand. I guess your roley machine will be getting some use now!!!

It has been a pleasure to act on your behalf, and our firm is lucky to have such committed and helpful clients. I hope that you and hubby are celebrating this evening, and that he is just as pleased. Some of our regular forum posters will remember the huge strain you were both under from the outset, and will no doubt join me later in wishing you both the very best of luck for the future.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

Yes, I am off now, with my tobacco to make my rollies for tomorrow!!!
(I can't stand the thought of having to do them one by one as needed as I am rubbish at making them!!)

Thanks all, wine almost gone and I will sleep like a baby tonight!

Thanks everyone

Getting help - you are with Melanie aren't you? Then I can confidently say you will be fine - not sure what my dividend was (or whatever you call it) but it was quite low I think, which worried me. But once again, they pulled it off. Natural to feel nervous, but I am sure all will be well.

Not sure of your situation, but my hubby didn't know I was in over £70k worth of debt, so to start with it was awful.

Let us know how you get on, and I will have a glass of wine with you!

Thats great news! I bet you feel so relieved. My creditors meeting is in a weeks time, and I dont feel that confident, have a feeling they will want more money, but dont actually having it! We can only aford £150 pcm on a debt of 17.5k. Congrats again :)

Congratulations and well done to Melanie and her team. Rollies are not so bad especially if accompanied by a nice glass of wine.
