Hi all,

My initial relief at finishing my IVA has been stunted a bit by the fact it is still showing up in CRA's.
Indeed, the CRA's state...

"If there’s an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) appearing on your report it will be there for a period of six years from the original registration date, as long as the IVA is no longer in place."

Does this mean I have to get a certificate from my IVA?
I thought the IVA simply dropped off after 6 years from start date?

The IVA remains on file until the 6th year anniversary of it's start, assuming it has successfully concluded. Completion does not happen until your IP issues a completion certificate, which can be up to 6 months after your final payment.
I am not qualified to give advice and can only state my opinions, based on my IVA experiences.

So it doesn't automatically drop off after the 6 year date?

Some people on this forum say it does?

For example. Has anything changed since then?

That post also relates to defaults, which are a different animal. The situation now is as it has always been : The IVA will drop off after 6 years, as long as it has been completed and signed off. Most IVAs are 5 years long, which allows a year for things to happen, some are 6 years ( some even 7 ) and there will be a delay until formal completion is effected.
