I had a look at the Frugal Friends map recently and was pleasantly surprised to see that there was a forum member very close to me.

I decided to take the plunge and drop my 'neighbour' a message to introduce myself..who I was, where I lived etc. My new frugal friend replied and I was even more surprised to see they lived even closer to me than I thought from looking at the map!

We have exchanged quite a few messages now, and it has been lovely to talk about local things AND all things money & IVA. [:)]

I haven't told any of my friends or family about our financial 'muddle' and it has been really nice to just chat online with someone who knows where I am coming from.

We are going to arrange to meet up soon hopefully and I am so pleased I took the plunge to send that message!

I really hope my little story encourages others to 'take the plunge' as well. I would love to hear your stories if you do!

that's great, I'm now back on the map (moved into the bank!) I'm quite happy for anyone to contact me!

I have two frugal friends I email and one other (kandh) I've met twice and we remain in contact even though her IVA is now over.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I'm in contact with a few forum members and they are definitely friends for life. We email and text regularly (several times a day!) and chat on the phone. Can't wait to meet you all in November.[:)] X

I've just put myself back onto the map, albeit I've moved into my local library[:D]!! (was a bit paranoid when I put my real postcode in and the map zoomed straight in to my road.

Exactly - I am still only a newbie but I do hope to make good friends on here as I have done on my parenting forums!

Anyone wanting to add me as a FF is more than welcome! [:)]
