I wouldnt be. It would be nice to pay off the iva sooner rather than later as I worry about it all the time (total born worrier ha ha). As I said I have been awarded DLA for my son when do I have to inform the IVA company of this as I am trying to sort out all the finances as when you get paid so much from someone the other people take it away. Is it best to get everything straight and then tell them as it would be much more organised or tell them now and they recalculate the payments straight away and then have to do it again when everything is worked out? Sorry to be asking so many questions they just keep popping up ha ha many thanks

I would be telling them as soon as you receive it, with a list of the expenditure you feel should be off-set against it (if any).

Ask away, that is what the forum is for.

Not at all! You are being very responsible in the way you are dealing with your IVA. Let them know as soon as you have all of the facts.

another question what exactly happens at your 12 month review what paperwork do they want if any?. Is it 12 months paperwork or only the last 3 months and do you have to have a meeting or is it just done merely by post or phone. Many thanks for your help

Hello
Our youngest daughter has severe eczema, asthma and food allergies. These have an impact on our monthly budget/family organisation as follows:
dairy free food(combine this with the fact she is a fussy eater anyway...can be a nightmare)
100%cotton pyjamas, washed daily due to scratching/bleeding(extra bedding needed/soap powder etc)
cotton knickers/socks/t-shirts etc basically anything next to her skin
bedding washed every second day due to bleeding/skin debris(soap powder/electric/extra bedding/tumble drying)
creams are on prescription but I buy eczema friendly suncream/shampoo(£10 a time)
hospital/doctor appointments(like our second home) including parking/travel charges-which add up!
She can't share a bath with her siblings due to their lotions and potions not being suitable, so she has her own.
She is too young to ensure she doesn't eat any potential hazardous foods, so hubby or I have to accompany her on any outing/party
rarely a full night's sleep due to scratching/crying etc
carpets replaced with wooden floors to reduce allergens (ground floor only, can't afford to do the rest)
pets rehomed (including our five year old labrador, which broke our hearts -including hers)
Our food/housekeeping bill is therefore high, as are our electric and medical bills.
It isn't until you sit down and think about all the little extra bits that you realise just what an impact something like eczema (and associated problems) can have on budgets. And compared to the complex needs of other children, it is a relatively insignificant health problem, which we manage as best we can, with good days and bad.
I sometimes wonder whether I would be a better mother if I worked less hours and was more available for her, but that scenario would reduce our income; making our financial situation worse still. If it wasn't for the debt, I would certainly reduce my hours considerably so that I could juggle being a mum/wife/friend and professional with greater aplomb!

The lifestyle juggle is always a difficult one, with feelings of guilt that you are not spending enough time with the children, and balanced against the need to earn money to fund the household bills. And it is made 10 times worse when you are in debt.

Your IP will put forward representations on your behalf with regard to your expenditure, and creditors are unlikely to challenge this. Your children are very lucky to have such a caring Mum, and you are doing an IVA at the right time before they get into senior school and start to become really expensive.

Thanks Melanie
It is easier to doubt ones' capabilities when the debt problems seem insurmountable, whether that be as a mother, wife, professional or friend.
Oh how differently I would do things if I had my time again!

Hi scc
To answer your specific question your IP will normally require proof of income[wage slips or p60]and a fresh income and expenditure form to be completed. This is normally all done by post.

Thanks Andy for your reply. Will they require bank statements and will all the documents they need be for the whole 12 months. Sorry to keep asking its just that I am new to this and wondered what would happen at 12 month review. Many thanks

Usually three months worth is sufficient.

Hi just wanted to pick your brains. As you now my son gets DLA and I was wondering if this was taken as income which freelillie answered for me (thank you)I did ask a question not long back about when did I have to inform my ip and said that I was trying to sort all the money out as everything changes they give with one hand and take with the other. I have now finally sorted it out and I am receiving the same amount as before (give or take about £20) so would I have to inform them now or will it be ok to wait until my 12 month review which is in November as their money will not go up and will not go down it will stay the same. many thanks for your help. I am not working at the moment Ive been off since beginning of the year with bad back problems and have now had all the results back and they have found that I have fractured my back (after a very painful spinal injections) needed a lot of alcohol for that ha ha but couldnt afford it ha ha look forward to your reply

Hi
As your disposible income has not changed then there is no rush to let your IP know. However, just to keep a good line of communication open,I would write to your IP and ask for a fresh income and expenditure form and just update it now.

Hi just had my yearly review forms to fill in and have a question. It is only myself who has the iva and not my partner but we do have a joint account. Do I have to put his money down as income or is it just mine? I want to get all the forms right before I send them back as dont want to mess them up. many thanks

Do it in the same way as the figures were presented in your proposals - so if they listed you as just a single person then just include your income.
