I think that mine probably would be included. I can choose not to retire though until the IVA has completed so I may well do that.

The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.

I remember one of the IPs posting on pensions and I think the gist of it was that they would usually be ringfenced to avoid plunging people into poverty in their retirement. But as with everything, it depends on the OP's wife's own proposal. A search of old posts might bring up a bit more info.
I know that mine isn't excluded but it is all down to the individual proposals and these should always be checked.

If I retire when originally planned (I don't have to, might not be economically best anyway) ... but IF I retire when originally planned, it will be a year after the IVA concludes, so, the effect of losing the IVA repayment and the debt means I will have a RISE in living standards on retirement. And, when the state pension kicks in, another rise !!! Can't wait !!!!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
I can't wait to retire now and if I have to pay some of my lump sum across then so be it.
Been working for 40 years now so had enough!

Even though my pension was excluded, that's what I did in the end Jan. I had always intended to hang on in my job until after the IVA. However, the last 2 years frequently consisted of 10 hour working days and I decided I needed to go before it finished me off!
My company pension gratuity was not acceptable as a full and final settlement so I decided take an option which required some of it to be paid in as a lump sum to reduce our monthly payment until month 60 and I was able to keep the ‘change’ An acceptable solution for everyone, also a real godsend as our car died (essential for the 100 mile daily round trip to my husband’s work) Of course my monthly company pension does go into the IVA now as it is my only income.
I do part time voluntary work now - much more enjoyable than my 'real' job ever was!
Don't blame you dizzy - if I can go early then I will do. Totally had enough now. If I have to pay my lump sum across then so be it!
