That's terrible Size5. We currently pay £70 a month for our duel fuel, but we've no idea if this is enough or not. We live in a one bedroom ground floor maisonette and there's just the 2 of us and Harry. Harry's got his own fur coat and Dave doesn't feel the cold but I'm terrible - I'm permanently cold. Oh well, big jumpers for me!

That sounds just like us! I think Dave would have the patio doors open all winter if he could! We had a dodgy thermostat all last winter (we didn't realise at the time) and the heating was permanently on full. I thought it was lovely and toasty warm while Dave was sitting there sweating!

our heating and electric costs are 159.00 per month and if at all possible anyone going into IVA needs to make sure absolutely everything is on there that is needed...as other posts say....school dinners and dental etc...we didnt put in dog insurance or house insurance...dint know to do this..so we are waiting to hear if it will be allowed at this review as we just took it out of housekeeping or wherever there seemed to be spare.....
and we all know there isnt really any spare at all...if we use some of something else then guaranteed there would be some other need come along too.....
even within the IVA we "rob peter to pay paul"
IVA completed 11th Dec 2009 due to a Full and Final with the fantastic help of Michael Peoples and
Mc Cambridge Duffy

I appreciate all your replies and I know you are all right, I have a recent bill that reflects the reduction of the Gas D/D being reduced from £101pm to £80 pm and I am going to send this to the person dealing with the iva as he has asked for proof of the council tax. I have only recently had the gas meter changed from a prepayment as the cost was rediculous. I only use £40pm electric (price froze it last week) so its only a combined bill of £120pm. Its a 3 bedroomed edwardian terrace not the most economaical property to heat, and I do realize this and must admit I like to be warm too. I really am dithering as to whether to bypass the iva and go straight for bankruptcy. I know I am the reason for my financial mess but others posts about struggling to pay for day to day living is scaring me. The only thing stopping me from applying for bankruptcy is my lack of knowledge of what would happen to my home and car. The house is in considerable negative equity minimum of £10k and the car is worth about £5K but my friend allowed me to pay this off with a joint secured loan as she uses the car too and pays 50% to all costs which it incurs. Didnt think I would get so jittery over the iva so early on. Anyway thanks folks for your replies and listening to my ramblings

regards

KLG

Don't let an enforced tight budget put you off the IVA process - if you are not happy with what you are currently being advised get a second opinion.
