Can anyone who has already gone bankrupt tell me how long after the day did their name appear in the local press, was it the following week or did it take a few weeks? This is one of the aspects that I am most worried about in case some of the parents at my daughters' school she it, then they tell their children and they take it out on my girls. You know how cruel children are.

Hi Tevez

I took 2 weeks for mine to appear but i would think this could vary depending on your area.

After the initial shock of seeing my name it was soon forgotten about and no one at my work or my sons school had said anything so i can only persume they did not read it, it is usually in the classifieds and unless you are looking for it chances are most people do ignore it i dont even look now.

(I apologise for my keyboards poor spelling and grammar)

Hi Tevez,

There is no reason to be ashamed, you have realised that you have a debt problem and have now taken action to find the best solution.

To be honest before I started working in this industry I didn't even know there was a bankruptcy section in the newspaper.

Hi Tevez
I know how you must feel, this was one of the reasons that I didn,t want to go bankrupt but as the other posters have stated only a few people will read the notice and it will soon be "old" news.

No-one has said anything to me about mine (apart from my uncle who said that some people will do anything to get their name in the paper!!!) so either no-one saw it or eles they were too polite to say anything. To be honest, in our local paper they are so small and tucked away among the classifieds (with the massage parlours and escort agencies!) that I doubt if anyone really knows where they are. I've actually cut mine out, so that if I ever think of borrowing money again (which I'm pretty sure I won't!) I can look at it and think again!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.
