Just had the shock of my life!

Both me and hubby due to be paid today, he's had his payslip, as I'm off sick mine will be at work somewhere. Just went onto Nationwide to check how much has gone in - NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!

Phoned payroll for both of us, and mine have told me that they have had one or two queries from staff who bank with Nationwide. Phoned Nationwide and been told that there is a problem at their end.

I have been told they are working on it and it should be sorted today. As I have pointed out to the girl I was speaking to, I have a load of direct debits due to come out on Friday - what happens if the momey isn't there? Obviously I have no overdraft facility. She has assured me that any bounced dd's will have charges returned.

If it's not sorted, then Friday will be spent phoning everyone who is due to be paid to explain the position. And Nationwide will be being asked for any other charges back if there are any!

I am fuming!!!!!!!!!!!

You really don't need this at the moment Jan! I do hope it is sorted out soon. What problems are the bank encountering their end?

If its nationwides error they cannot charge you!!!
I would be surprised if they dont have it resolved by the end of the day
I know its hard but try not to worry too much.Is there no way they could honour any direct debits for friday if they dont resolve it???

I believe it is a technical hitch which they reckon will be sorted by this afternoon, so they have advised to ring back then, so that is exactly what I will do.

1st time we have had a problem with them, and anyone can have a computer problem!

I have been assured it will be sorted out, and I know I am by no means the only one affected.
