Years ago I had a full current account with Nationwide which I stopped using for some reason - I can't remember why. I declared the account when I went BR but it was never frozen and the OR had no interest in it. Last week I decided to see if I could use the account as it had a full Visa debit card.

They said they would order me a new card, and I fully expected they would credit check me and I would end up with another cash card, but when I got home at lunchtime there was a brand new full Visa debit card waiting for me, valid until 2014!

Brilliant news Skip! I'd try for one myself but I'm scared of them telling me they're going to close my account!

I only tried it as I didn't care if they closed it or not!

Mine is my main account, so I think I'll hang on to the cashpoint card. Don't use a debit card much anyway.
