Hi,
Prior to my IVA we changed bank accounts to the NatWest Step Account, with no problems whatsoever. This was back in October/November last year.

The account is basically just used for money to be paid in and direct debits out.

Well, today I have had a phone call from my local branch of NatWest asking if it was possible for me to pop in for a review of the account and that this is normally done within 3 months of opening a new account with them. Then after that normally just an annual review.

Does anyone know if this is a normal procedure with the NatWest?

Im just wondering as my IVA was only approved the end of February whether they know this and are now doing some checks. But I'm almost positive when we opened this account I told the young lad what we were doing regarding the IVA.

Hello mumofthree,

I'm sure this "review" is more to do with establishing whether there is any financial product that they can sell to you rather than any concern about the IVA.

Hi Mumofthree
As Andrew said, this is more then likely a way for Natwest to discuss different financial products available to you (eg home insurance). They cary out these reviews with all their clients.

Thanks

Hi,

Andrew is spot on. They will simply call you in and try and get you to upgrade and then they will fail you on the credit check. When I was asked I just politely declined and said I was happy with my account the way it is thank you

I had exactly the same and can remember posting on forum about this. It really is them trying to sell you a product or two! just tell them you're more than happy with the account you have and they'll leave you alone x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Every time I ring Natwest or go into the branch they say about a review of my account I always say no thanks!!! and they say fine. It is a sales tool to getting you to buy life insurance or try you for a credit card!!! but you ask for a review when your ready !!
On the slow safe road to success. Personal thanks to Melanie Giles Kallis Skippy Elv5 and all the other wonderful forum friends.
