Hi Stewpots - car financing or leasing could be acceptable to yur creditors. Have a chat to your IP about it and let us know how you get on. My IP didn't have a problem with me leasing (from boyfriend) after my car died as public transport was equivalent to car costs and a salary increase meant I could cover the additional costs without needing to reduce my payments. P.S - as I work occasional shifts and my home in the country is not serviced by public transport, I was allowed to include taxi costs in my public transport calculations. Give me a shout off forum if you want x
I decided to get my exisiting car repaired (4th time in 1 yr and all over £700 a time).[:(]

I wasn't aware you could do these sort of things within an IVA.

I will talk to my IP but start new job next week so will probably be at least 8 weeks or more before I look at it. Just worried current car will let me down again. (its only 5yrs old 70,000 miles cost 10k when i got it 8 months old).

stewpots, what I know about cars can be written in braille on the back of a postage stamp -- but I am just being nosey ---- what keeps going wrong with your car ? It sounds in bad shape for a 5 year old!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Dunctons will also require a large deposit before you can have a car and the APR is high.

That's not a lot - will you be commuting far?

Hi Jan - I'll be commuting about 220 miles per week and then there's all the incidental journeys so I'm guessing about 250 miles pw all in.

That's a lot of miles and you are getting less fuel allowance than I am. I'm getting £210 a month and I commute about 125 miles a week and the incidental mileage probably comes to another 50 at the most.
