Thank you Nic, I might go one day who knows, might wait until I get a bit of money, I think our nearest one is around just over an hour away. My hubby will certainly love the endless coffee that bloke could do with an intravenous drip for his caffine fix!

Our drinking glasses come from Asda Smart Price - can't remember what we paid for them, but I think IKEA would be hard pushed to beat them for price.

Good tip Kallis, I have a big Asda near me and have never been in so I will bear that in mind. There is no point spending money on decent glasses when the dishwasher makes the glass cloudy.

I love Asda and our main shop is done there every week. I find it a lot cheaper than Tesco or Sainsburys. I know I get 10% off because my daughter works there part time, but I still find it cheaper and I do love a lot of their Smart Price range (the curry sauce at 5p a jar is to be recommended!)

Fab! 5p- I love the sound of that!!! Curry on Saturday night me thinks!

I have to admit my passion my Waitrose but their new Essentials range is great value and quality too. They do a big bag of veg- pots, carrots, cauliflower, cabbage and parsnips for £4 which has done us (4 people) for 3 days, also chicken thighs are on special! I can make a chicken curry for 3 for £2.55 now with your Asda recommendation- thank you!

I wouldn't go anywhere near Waitrose - far too expensive (and too far away - nearest is a very expensive city).

Even Sainsburys is too expensive for me!

Waitrose is my vice, I don't smoke or drink. They price match against Tesco/Sainsburys on brand named products. It's my local store, walkable, so saves me a 2 mile drive to any of the others although I am going to visit Asda (5 miles away) to do a bigger shop on Kallis' recommendation!

Asda is about 3 miles from me. Tesco is only half a mile away but I only use it for top up shopping. Waitrose is a good 12 miles away.

I think we all prefer one supermarket or other and in each there are offers that are tempting, I'd like to visit them all to save money but like others you only have one or two local to make it viable to save money, we've Morrisons and Sainsbury and to be fair they're all much of a muchness in my opinion.

I love Sainsburys, they have a lot more choice food wise, BUT, I do find them very expensive compared to Asda and Tesco.

Hubby loves their bread so we do sometimes pop in for a loaf and I always look at the reduced stuff!

we enjoy going to sainsburys and we use our coop bags because they make such a fuss about how many bags you use.

I would use them all the time, but they are so much more expensive than Asda and it is needs must whilst in an IVA (plus the 10% discount as daughter works there!). The bags are Tesco re-usable ones. Our Sainsburys still have free bags at the checkouts. No problems with how many you use.
