Best of luck with your creditors meeting. We are waiting for the results of our first annual review now - our IVA's were approved on 4th January 2013. Nowhere near as nervous as I was in the run up to the creditor's meeting and on the day, sitting by the phone/PC waiting for "the call". Still remember it very clearly so my heart goes out to you but sure it will be OK. We are 14 payments down the line now and our lives have been transformed by our IVA's (I know that sounds a bit strange but it's true) so I wish you all the best in your journey.

my IVA concluded nearly 4 years ago. I am a changed person ! So much better for going through the process and really appreciating everything that I do and buy !
The IVA taught me and my husband to budget, live well within our means and save for things that we want, rather than flash the plastic !
I will continue to support the IVA forum as it was a massive part in my debt free journey and is almost like a "friend" who keeps me on the straight and narrow !
Sharing from experiences of dealing with debt
There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !
Good Afternoon All, Sorry I have only just had the chance to log on now to let you all know my IVA was approved yesterday morning... YAY
So now I have 59 payments until I am debt free. I know full well it is a long way off but it's light at the end of a very long tunnel I have been in for many years.
I am just waiting for my I.P to call me back as I forgot to ask when I should cancel all my DD for the debts I'm currently paying?
Congratulations and stop paying creditors now. You probably should have done that already but certainly make sure that no one else gets paid other than the IVA.
Congratulations John you are now on you way to a debt free future, time goes quickly I am 2 years in and it only seems like a couple of months since we were in your position good luck for the future
I said congratulations on your other post but doesn't hurt to say it twice so congratulations again and do stop them payments to creditors as your IVA sorts that now.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
Congratulations on having your IVA approved. You asked how our lives had been transformed by the IVA's and it is because we no longer have the worry of robbing Peter to pay Paul every month because our income doesn't even cover the interest payments on our debt and we have learned to live within a very strict budget but actually seem to have more money available than before! We now always have a positive bank balance, although sometimes it's only a few £'s positive, as we can't have an overdraft and it's a lovely feeling. Obviously we have to make our IVA payments but feel that those payments are actually going towards paying something off and there is no dead money being paid to creditors just to make a very small dent in a large outstanding balance. Yes, our credit rating is shot to smithereens but that's actually not a bad thing as it means we won't easily be able to borrow again after our IVA but that's a small price to pay for our peace of mind. It can be quite scary at first in the IVA, getting used to not having credit cards to fall back on but it makes you only buy what you can afford which is a good way to live your life anyway. Best of luck.
