Don't forget if you still want a Mastercard facility to look at Cashplus who I use and I also understand tuxedo also have a mastercard facility. These are front loaded credit cards similar to top up cards.They cost about 5.00 per month but do give you a lot of flexibility.

Your question "Can I ask what would the consequence of banking with Abbey be if I owe Cahoot money"
Abbey would have the right to take money from your new account,before the IVA is accepted,to offset it against your debt with Cahoot.That is why it is important to have an account with a non creditor

FYI: you can send cheques to Alliance & Leicester for free in their self addressed envelopes (and they go secure delivery) through the Post Office. You get a receipt and they'll be received next working day.
