I have lurked and browsed for a while but decided I would take the plunge, register and introduce myself.

My partner and I got into debt as a result of his divorce (she left him within weeks of them buying a bigger house...leaving him to pay the mortgage alone and having to repalce all the household goods etc she took with her[:(!] ). We had two children very close together (one very much planned the other a complete shock and surprise but both equally loved and adored) which put a further strain on our finances. Our mortgage had risen to £1,400 a month which was simply unaffordable and we were repossessed last month.

As the one secured loan is now unsecure we now qualify for an IVA along with the usual credit cards and bank loans. We sent our proposals back this week and we now apparently have a wait of 3 weeks before the creditor's meeting is held.

Our IP is confident that there are no problems and it will go through but it is only human nature to worry and I know I will be feeling more and more worried, sick and stressed as the days go by. I guess the one plus point is it will do wonders for the diet as I can't eat when stressed [:D]

Anyway, I think I have waffled on enough now. Thanks for taking the time to read this and thanks for all the help and advice I have picked up since lurking.
Completion Certificate received September 2012.

Hi and welcome
Your IP seems very confident and should be.
You will return more to your creditors under an IVA rather than bankruptcy so there is no reason for it to be declined
Regards
