That is exactly where the advertisement would be placed, and don't worry it would not name your wife's school. Hope the meeting with Tina goes/went well.

Hi again all,

Well, we've spoken to Tina and it looks like it's bankruptcy for us! Not too sure how we feel about that and my wife is still panicking about her job being safe etc, but at least we know where we stand now!

Just another question I forgot to ask Tina on the phone. My wife is due to go back to work part time in September after maternity leave. She obviously made this decision a while ago and has agreed her contract will be part time and the school has appointed staff which means it would be impossible for her to return full time now. Is there a chance she could be made to try to get a full time post instead to repay the creditors? If this were the case we'd have more money to repay, but in reality not much more as our childcare costs would be more than doubled.

Thanks once again!

I

No-one can force your wife to go back to work full-time to repay creditors, so do not worry about that.

Hi Ians

I would echo Barb's words. I work as an Open University Lecturer and also hold a pretty prominent position in the local community where lots of people know my name. I was verging on BR only a few months ago ... at first the thought of my name being in the paper did worry me ... but, as my outlook started to change, I began to feel proud of myself for what I was achieving in addressing my debt situation ... and an example to the many other people who are struggling with debt.

I would have thought that the mere fact of you not even knowing where the notices are published speaks volumes ... if you don't know it is likely that others wouldn't notice it either unless they were particularly looking. Also today's news is very much yesterday's fish and chip paper and BR would offer you a fresh start in life. Your wife will go on to develop her life and her career and have other jobs in the future. The stability, both emotionally and financially, of your family for the long term is what is important at this stage in your life [:)]
