Hi Guys

I'm pretty much new on the site, been on the debt posts a few times but thought it was about time i joined in on here and got to maybe know a few folk!

Well starting to stress now as i have my creditors meeting at 3pm on thursday dec 3rd, worried to death that it won't be accepted, can't go bankrupt as would worry about losing the house so only alternative would be a DMP but would take 15 years - too b***** long! Will keep everyone posted on my outcome - positive like becca's i hope!

Well i'm getting married next October and need to do it on the cheap, so if anyone has any idea's/suggestions it would be much appreciated. We're having a church wedding which is costing £250, and having the reception at home, buffet with close friends and family, but other than that have no idea!

Hi RooRoo,

I am sure you will be fine next week and will wonder what all the worrying was about!

Congratulations on your forthcoming nuptials. Sounds as though you are doing quite well on the budget front.

You could use somewhere like BHS for your dress and any bridesmaid dresses, they're quite reasonable.

You could also check out Ebay, they have bargains on there.

hi Rooroo,

Glad you're exploring the forum [:)] I always click on "see the top 250 posts" so i don't miss out [:D]

I can understand you stressing, but its not long to go. If its reassuring, we've been down the BR route and kept our home. So don't panic, just take each step as it comes

mmmmm weddings???? My youngest daughter is getting married next October and she is very frugal! everything has been booked and paid for! We paid for her wedding dress.....we went to the bridal shops and she found a stunning dress, priced over £800!! got it on ebay brand new for just over £200!

She designed her own invites with a funny poem asking for money rather than a toaster!bridesmaid dresses have come from ebay and debenhams.

Plenty of bargains out there and you can still have your dream day xx

Hiya

Thanks for your replies, you are always so reassuring to people in there posts, but i guys it's natural instinct to be worried - it's my own b***** fault!

As for the wedding, we're planning on doing it as cheap as possible, i'm hoping my parents will contribute to the buffet and cut the cost for us that way, but with our weekly shopping allowance we've said we're gonna start buying the plonk in the new year so it doesn't hit us hard! As for the outfits, i have a lovely cream dress i bought for a friends wedding and never wore it, so planning on slimming into it! Just need to buy the little ones a nice dress but will get something they can wear again so it's not wasted money. My mate who'd the matron of honour knows my situation, the only friend who does as other than my other half, nobody else knows. I've told her i can't afford to buy a dress and she's sorting herself out - what a star!

Tell you what i am never having credit ever again, if we can't afford it we're n ot having it!

Swans-girl, how did you managed to keep your house and go BR? My IP has suggested it but i wanted to stay safe and use it as a last resort. We are in negative equity, so she hopes we wouldn't have a problem

Rooroo - we were in negative equity, so when hubby when BR, I bought the beneficial interest (£212). A simple procedure.

It was a last resort for us, hubby had been in an IVA for 18 months. It was the right decision in the end and with the help of the forum we got through it.

You seem to have got the wedding covered...well done! I'm sure you'll have a fab day [:)]

If your house is in negative equity then it is highly unlikely you would lose it.

You would just need to get someone to buy the beneficial interest in it which costs £1 plus £211 costs and it is taken out of the BR.

Hiya hun

I would say that you have done all you can so try to relax. Its easier said than done I know but if the crocks would get more in BR the people proposing wouldnt be proposing.

Take care of whats really important, sounds like you have a fantastic future to look forward to, dont let stress and paper stuff get in the way of that. People, including your lovely self are a million times more important that money and worry.

Houses are bricks and mortar I know that because my last one fell down. Luckily I was renting it... Even on your big day the most important thing will be looking foreard to your future together.

So when youre feeling a bit 'how did I get here?' 'why am I so scared?' #My life is in ruins' and you get the picture, remember you have done all you can and whatever happens is meant to happen.

I wish you the best luck in the world with everything.

Take care now.

RooRoo good luck with your meeting and congratulations on the forthcoming wedding. My daughter got her bridesmaid dresses from BHS and they were beautiful. Certainly sounds like you're on track with the wedding so I sincerely hope you have a fab day.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
