Just called StepChange about HMRC. It’s been written off, they said that they didn’t vote in time so it’s bound by the IVA.

They shouldn't do. However, I wouldn't put it past some to try.

Thanks all, I received my completion report on Valentine’s Day but I’m still awaiting my completion certificate, I know this takes usually up to 3 months when it’s paid off fully I believe.
I guess timing hasn’t been great because I’m trying to move flats and had to explain to my landlord that I was in an IVA but it’s completed but with no real proof other than my letter I got.

The completion report should be evidence enough for now on things you need. What's the actual wording on it ? Reason I ask is the completion certificate is not a physical certificate and sometimes arrives without people realising they have all they need. You will come of the insolvency record within three months of the completion being reported so hopefully everything will be concluded very soon for you.

A "Completion Certificate" could just be a plain piece of paper with something along these lines on it:

Insolvency Act 1986
In the matter of XXXXXX
I, XXXX of XXXXXXX, Chartered
Accountant, the Supervisor of the aforementioned voluntary arrangements give notice pursuant to
Rule 5.34(2) of the Insolvency Rules 1986 that my duties are complete and that the arrangements
have been fully implemented.
XXXXXXX
Dated this XXXXXXXX

Nothing you could frame and hang in the loo :)

Hi all,

I didn’t get this yet, I received a “Annual progress report” but this is it so far. I have emailed StepChange to ask if it has been sent / dealt with yet.
I did use the report as evidence for my landlord as it shows in writing it has been completed and by what means.
I was open and honest with them and from what I could gather over the phone all is well I believe.

That's great news re landlord ... hopefully step change can email you the certificate as well as send it.

When you get it save it, copy it etc ..you never know when you'll need it.

Evening all, still waiting for my completion certificate and to be removed from the register etc.
Me and my partner just moved into a flat together, all fine as its the same landlord.
We wanted to get a sofa on finance and unfortunately failed because he has a new bank account and new job so I'm guessing this is why it fail...
Would I be able to try? I'm looking at just over £1000 finance... between the both of us interest free....

Any thoughts? I dont want to just go and try as I'm really trying to build up credit atm.

I wouldn't advise it until you are clear off the register and the IVA is off your credit report. It is likely that you will get refused and the search on your report will go against you.
