Just a thought -- while you are waiting, pop what would have been the IVA payment into an envelope each month. You might be able to buy the sofa you want for cash when the time comes.

Thank you, managed to buy one it is being delivered tomorrow 🥳 my sister kindly lent us half the money which we will pay back end of month pay day and I had money for the rest.
Not long now hopefully till the IVA drops off, should be around the 27 to or so. My Experian score has already increased 44 points.
Insolvency Service state "up to" three months from the time they get a copy of the certificate --- more often it is three months to the day, but a few have dropped off earlier.

Must I wait the 3 months also before applying for a credit building credit card? Or is okay to do this now
You can apply now ---- it might get refused, as at any time, depending on their acceptance criteria at the time of application. Enrolling with something like Clearscore or Credit Karma might help as they will present you with lenders likely to say yes (although still not guaranteed).

Do a soft search as this does not impact on your credit rating and will let you know if you are likely to be accepted.

Thank you all, I’ve decided not to do this until my name disappears from the Insolvency register so I’ve got a couple more months to go. Forever checking my credit score which keeps going up and down and ultimately atm sits at -55 points so I’m around 400 odd right now. It’s frustrating but I know it’ll take time… since moving in with my partner my account gets hefty outgoings as all rent and bills are in my name but he pays me his share etc. So in terms of building credit this way I have always paid rent bills out of my account.
I just wish there was a faster way to improve credit….
It should be around that. What does it say on your Insolvency Register entry ? Does it note that the IVA has completed ? If it still shows as current they either haven't had, or have lost, the notification. I would drop them a message.

Thank you so much everyone, the 3 month wait is finally over and as of today I was officially off the Insolvency Register!
I can't explain how amazing I feel right now.
Money is tighter than ever at the moment with soaring costs of living but I'm on the right track and on the very good path of recovery, I finally have savings to my name and so much better at budgeting now.
Now to start to build my credit.
