If it's any consolation our list is of similar length to yours but much with many more noughts on the end! We are a little way further down the line than you having recently submitted all the necessary documents to Melanie and her team. Any delay is entirely down to us getting all the info together (house valuation, loan statements etc). It is a nail biting time, but this forum gives us great encouragement in the belief that, of all lousy decisions we've made in the past, we have now made a life-changing one for the better. As with everyone else, we are getting beseiged by telephone calls and, if you haven't already got one, I recommend to get an aswerphone (if it's someone you want to speak to they will leave a message - the others don't)

Hi Johnh,

Thanks for the posting. It comforting to hear that my extensive list is not one on it's own (although it does feel that way doesn't it)? I note you have used the term 'we' a lot. I think I would feel much better had my husband and I both got into this mess together but it was purely down to me and without his knowledge at all. I think I could get a job with MI5 because my skills at concealing information (especially the horrible truth) turned me into quite the undercover agent! However, the fact that he had no idea what-so-ever made the confession all that more horrendous. It is very hard living with someone who handles money so well, it makes me feel even more the failure.

I wish you every success with your IVA and I do hope you get the necessary approvals from your creditors. I hope you keep updating the forum with your progress?

Thanks again for the words of comfort.

Kind Regards
Paula x

[:I]hi puzzlellie,if its any consolation, all my debts are my own,& although i accumilated alot of them before i met my other half, for quite a number of years he had no idea of the extent of them.he knew i had some debts, but i am ashamed to say that i used to make up the actual amount i owed,(by quite a few thousand.)i was convinced that i would be able to pay it all back & was far too ashamed to tell anyone, even those closest to me.so i know exactly how you feel.i too would make a great member of mi5 ![:)]
please visit my blog http://tori.blogs.iva.co.uk/ a second chance..

Thanks,Paula
Yes you are right, both my wife and myself have jointly got into the mess and are jointly getting ourselves out of it, I hope. Your hubby sounds like a saint - I'm sure now you have "come clean" to him and taken steps to resolve your problems will in itself make you feel much better. Hope everything works out tickety-boo for you.

Hi Paula

Never be afraid to pick up the phone and ask us questions. That is what we are here for - and we actually get paid for doing that work as well!!

Whilst the list may be daunting, it is one step forward to getting that solution you are looking for.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner
