Not all IPs will take on self-employed cases, so do make sure that you check with the firm you choose to represent you that they are comfortable with this sort of work.

May I ask, do you yourself deal with self employed cases, whereabouts are you based as if we need to meet at any point I guess we would need to be local to you, we are near Portsmouth on the south coast. I specialise in self-employed cases, as well as consumer based ones, and my offices are based in Cardiff, but we very often have clients visiting the offices as putting together an IVA is a very important stage of your life and if it means a day off to get things sorted most people are prepared to travel for the right advice.

If it is important to use someone more local, your local Yellow Pages ought to have a list of IP firms, or why not have a search on IVA.com for further guidance.
