Just taken the first step and spoke to vincent bond about on IVA. One thing they did not mention about any fees they are sending me some info and a statment what if I decide not to go ahead will I face any charges?? Really worried as my partyner and I really eants to discuss anything and were going to speak to a few companies before deciding who to go with. Any advice on this would be great
Hi and welcome to the forum. You've spoken to a good company, I doubt the advice you were given would be chargeable and any information they send you will be information to help you I think. Andy Davie who works with VB posts on the forum and will be able to advise x

Vincent Bond do come recommended on here, and they will look at your circumstances before advising you on the best solution for yourselves.
You should speak to one or two companies before making a decision.
VB do charge a fee but that is because they do the initial leg work before an IP takes over.

If you choose VB to act on your behalf then you will pay a fee but as Jan says it's always best to choose 2 or 3 companies to ensure you get impartial advice. www.iva.com lists some companies and reviews of these. All the best.

Hi, I spoke with VB too, and at the end of the call they informed me they would be sending out some information.
There is no charge for this - I got info packs from VB and Cleardebt and have decided to go with another company.
I just advised VB I was proceeding with someone else.
There are lots of sharks out there but some good companies too - VB and Cleardebt are both recommended. It just happened that I felt more at ease with another IVA firm.
If you choose to go with VB then they will charge for their services but they do a lot of the leg work for you.

Thanks for all the replys i am aware they will charge if I sign and return the docs but wondered if they will charge me now for sending out the information. Sorry to sound silly but very new to all this [:I]
It's not silly and I doubt they will charge you for sending out information as Tillergirl said she enquired with them and then made a decision to go elsewhere so I'm sure you'll be fine.
You're doing the right thing sorting out your debts and you've found the forum so do keep posting and we'll try our best to help you x

Initial information should never be charged for, and VB don't do that. If you choose them to assist you towards either an IVA or DMP they will charge but you will get an excellent service.

VB work with a panel of very good insolvency practitioners and will refer you to one of them once they have gathered up all of your paperwork. Make sure you take your time to consider all of the advice you have been provided with and then you will be well armed to make a decision.
