Thats so reasurring as I have felt like this for a while with tiredness, lack of concentration, also not remembering things.
This has been so worrying but hope now I been diagnosed it will improve with time, thanks so much for your advice it really does help to 'speak' with someone who knows what it feels like..... i was strting to worry in case people who know me thought I was being just plain old lazy.
i have also been prescibed with metformin to run alongside the thyroxine - such a lot to take in yesterday but I can't remember what this is for. Did you also have this?

Metformin helps to cotrol sugar levels, I guess they maybe were a bit high. The thyroxine will replace the thyroid hormone that you are lacking. What dose of thyroxine have they given you. I was not prescribed metformin just thyroxine. Quite normal, if it is low to feel the way you have been, hopefully not for much longer though. They will check your levels quite a bit probably evbery six weeks until they get fairly normal levels. I now only have mine checked once a year. Also if you are on thyroxine be aware yopu are entitlerd to a prescription exemption card, so you wont have to pay for any of your prescriptions. Get the form from your chemist and your doc has to sign it. It covers all prescriptions not just the thyroxine.

He has prescribed 50mg of thyroxin and 500mg metfromin and I have to see him in 4 weeks and have more blood tests.

Also thanks a lot for informing me about the free prescriptions, I had no idea and have been spending a fortune on them lately. So thats great news

Thanks again

They will start you on a lower dose and build on it if necessary. I am on 175mcgs at the moment. Its because of the thyroxine you will get them free, but not till you get your card so get the form asap from any chemist and get it signed by your gp and send it off, they are usually quite quick in getting it back.
I am always around if you feel down, I have been there.

I was diagnosed with IBS years ago Kiska. I've found that the foods that cause me the most problems are dairy products. I now have soya milk and try and buy most things that are dairy free - I know I shouldn't say this on a diet thread but Sainsburys do some lovely coconut and chocolate chip biscuits! It hasn't cured the IBS 100%, but it's loads better than it was.

Hi guys.

Just wanted to say well done to everyone that's sticking with it. You're all brilliant.

I'm putting my whole get fit thing on hold for a couple of weeks. I'm getting some really bad side effects from my antidepressents and am only sleeping around 2 - 3 hours a night, so am too shattered to do anything. The good thing is that I'm too tired to eat, so that should help [:)]

Anyway's the doc says that after 3 weeks I should feel fab. Been on them for 11 days, so 10 more days and I should be able to get my lardy butt down the gym [:D][:D]
