Yes well done Becky. I wanted to do one of those videos but I think the floor would give in and the house would shake ! I dont think in all honesty I could manage it yet. I have been doing my walking though and it is a little easier, going to walk home from work in the morning if it ever stops raining.

Well I had my induction at the gym tonight - I don't like the gym very much, my old one was nicer. Work are paying in full for this one though so I can't go back to my old one unless I pay for it - no chance of that!

Anyway, the induction! It started off badly when the instructor asked me what I like using in the gym - I said the exercise bike, as I didn't think 'none of it, I hate exercise' would go down very well! He started me off on the treadmill and when I mentioned I want to run the Race for Life he increased the speed on the treadmill so I had to jog - 2 minutes and it nearly killed me! Then it was off to the bike - much more me! I finished off with the nasty cross trainer - I'll be lucky if I can move when I've done the programme in full! The bad news is next week I start on the weights...

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

Just had this sent through and thought it amusing and highly appropriate in my case!

After Christmas
================

'Twas the week after Christmas, and all through the
house
Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.
The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I'd taste
At the holiday parties had gone to my waist.

When I got on the scales there arose such a number!
When I walked to the store (less a walk than a
lumber).

I'd remember the marvelous meals I'd prepared;
The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared,

The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese
And the way I'd never said, "No thank you, please."

As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt
And prepared once again to do battle with dirt

I said to myself, as I only can
"You can't spend a winter disguised as a man!"

So away with the last of the sour cream dip,
Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip

Every last bit of food that I like must be banished
"Till all the additional ounces have vanished.

I won't have a cookie -- not even a lick.
I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.

I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie,
I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.

I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore
But isn't that what January is for?

Unable to giggle, no longer a riot.
Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet!

Everyone is doing so well and it is such an inspiration but I'm a little scared about stepping on those scales tomorrow as this week hasn't been good but I know I have to do it!

Louisa

Don't be to hard on yourslef if you get on the scales and don't get the result you want.
Some weeks will be better than others.

I always find that if I think I've done badly and are unhappy I am more likely to fail as I lose motivation.

I am dreading my weigh in tommorrow as I have eaten out twice this week with my boss [:0]

Good luck
Emma [:)]
Be positive & look after yourself, there are more important things in life than debts....

Best Wishes

Well after last night's disaster I've asked work to cancel my membership - I really didn't like the gym and the thought of going back there didn't exactly fill me with joy! I've got 6 weeks left on my old gym membership so I'll use that, and then start cycling and jogging.

The only time I've lost loads of weight is when I cycled everywhere. I actually enjoyed it, which I think is the most important thing about exercising.

I'm not looking forward to tomorrow's weigh in!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

Well done to all of you who have lost weight!!!

Becky you are a great example of how importatnt it is to measure as well as weigh!!

There is nothing more demoralising than being "good" all week only to see you have lost no weight.

A real incentive to keep going when you get results of how many inches you have lost.

Very Very well done keep it up!

I have tried hard this week eating healthily and running for 30 mins every morning.

However all the fruit and veg and wholegrains I have been eating have left me bloated and full of wind[xx(] (No change there then lol)

Good luck for tomorrow everyone!!
