Another update : TIX are apparently not budging on the rent allowance so I have been asked to go back with a counter offer of an extra £70 per month [:0]

I am already at the limit with the allowances that have been put through and I thought that, albeit there won't be any holidays for a while, this was suppose to be an affordable way of paying back what you owe????? I have agreed - means me selling my car I think because this was the allowance for petrol per month so I am just waiting (again!) now to see if they accept my couter offer!

Oh Lusso,

Will you be able to manage without your car?

Be very careful about agreeing to additional payments if you can't afford them. An IVA is suppose to be an affordable repayment plan so please don't stretch yourself beyond what you believe is affordable.

To be honest I am really not sure what to do!! I don't understand why they are being so inflexible given that I think my allowances were all on the low side!

BR isn't really an option - I don't think! I work in a Finance department so I am sure that I wouldn't be able to continue working here and I am petrified of the whole "name in the paper" senario!

I will wait and see what Pauline comes back with! I have just had to call her again as I have been told that I need to go over to Spain (with work) tomorrow afternoon and I won't be back until Friday (late) which would take me past the 14 day adjournment stage! She said that she sent over the offer this morning and that one of her colleagues has called to chase them today, only to be told that their systems are down and they want her to call them later today. Pauline keeps saying she will call me when she has an answer, but that just leaves me hanging and in suspense.

Do you think that I can demand to speak to my IP - as this really needs to be sorted today! I really do feel that enough is enough!

I certainly would demand to speak to the IP. As helpful as Pauline has been, you're not getting the answers you deserve.

As for going BR, it really does depend on what you do in the finance sector. Maybe worth looking into, just in case?

Hello All!

Well my perserverance has finally paid off - they want to increase my payments to £323 pcm which I think is doable! I need to see the paper work when it comes through, just to make sure, but I think that this will be workable if I budget my petrol aswell as food!

One last question before I go and lie down in a dark room for a while [:D] - if when the paper work comes they have removed other allowance - Pauline kept mentioning that they have allocated £400pcm plus £197 for bills, just don't know what they are classing as "bills" and I don't want to have lost else where also - if that makes sense??? - can I query it?

Once I have slept tonight - I now need to start looking into accommodation for January (although my gran has said that I can move in with her whilst I am trying to find somewhere that will take me and the dog [;)]) - Will I need to get some kind of rental agreement from her for the next 2/3 months?

I can't say a big enough thank you to you all for being here for me - have to say that I have faced some of my darkest days on this page so thank youuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Lusso, I'm glad to see your perseverance paid off, and that you're going to wait until you see it all on paper to make sure that the modifications are acceptable, please make sure they are workable as 5 years is a long time to be too frugal. In an IVA we're all frugal but we do have to live too.

I would definitely query anything you're not clear about and definitely query anything you don't understand.

I would probably get a rental agreement between you and Gran but not sure on this one but just for IVA purposes maybe it would be sensible.

I hope your darkest days are now over Lusso and things start to look a lot brighter for you.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

[:)] At last, some positive news for you!! Well done!

Read through everything carefully and make sure you query anything that doesn't sit right. The important thong is that you actually agree with what your disposable income is.

I don't think you'll need anything formal from your Gran regardiing any board and lodge you have to pay. Hopefully one of the IP's will be able to confirm.

I am soooooooooo relieved and pleased for you. Have a glass of wine and then take a lie down [:D]

Make sure you keep posting xx

Hi Lusso. I doubt if you will need a formal agreement from your gran. It may take a couple of months to save the deposit for the flat and any security required for utility companies so if your gran does not charge you the full amount you have a chance to save.

Check with DFD for confirmation but at least you have reached a resolution and well done. Congratulations also to DFD for fighting your corner and not giving up.

Well done. I'm glad it's all sorted for you now x

Out of interest which creditors do TIX represent?

Thanks everyone and don't worry I will be going through the proposal with a fine tooth comb and will be sure before signing the documents.

Cath - I think they said TIX worked for RBS, Capital One & CitiBank.

The only other thing I think they want to be sure of is that my pension contributions are compulsory - so I have just emailed HR to find out.

That is much better news Lusso, and at last a light at the end of the tunnel!

I agree that you should make sure you check your paperwork thoroughly and if there is anything you are not sure of, you know where we are.

I'm so pleased it is working out for you at last, you've had a rough time.

I think I'd be getting a cheap bottle of plonk and celebrating![:D]
