There are one or two places who have stopped accepting cheques, so who knows, in 5 years time they may be totally obsolete anyway!

Hi Everyone,

Just logged on and can't believe all the messages of support,I am so glad to be a part of this wonderful team now, thank you all so much[:)]

I hope, in time to be able to offer my support and experience to others as well.

Just got back from being taken out for a Meal which was really nice, haven't been out for ages so it made a nice change to be pampered.

Hope my post didn't look like I was looking for Sympathy, I was just trying to justify why I hadn't looked at our Debt situation earlier. With other things going on in our life, I suppose, looking back now that I didn't think we had a problem as paid everyone on time each month but then used the cards during the month to pay for food etc.[:(]

Kal,
That'll be really good when I can change my username to nodebtmountain[:D]
IVA accepted 13/11/2008..17 payments down,55 to go..

Glad you had a good birthday.

No one thought you were just looking for sympathy. We have all been where you are and can relate to it.

You've taken that important first step and that's what counts.

HI Debtmountain

happy birthday [:D], glad you had a good night out, nobody would think you were looking for sympathy and you dont have to justify to any of us why you are in debt, we are all reading from the same book just on different pages, just because you have debts doesnt make you a bad person and doesnt mean you cant have fun or should feel guilty about it, you ve addressed the situation and are moving forward in the right direction, good luck keep posting and let us know how you are getting on

all the best
rb

Hi just wanted to say welcome and good luck with your proposal x x

Hi debtmountain - you're in the right place for help and support. Glad you are sorting out your problems. We too are with Melanie and out meeting is tomorrow. We also have NR as a major creditor for £25K. Melanie has a good track record of getting IVA's approved so you are in safe hands. Good luck.
IVA completed September 2014. Finaly debt free - final dividend 88p/£

Hi Debtmountain .... welcome to the forum. Re your question about letter from Northern Rock, I wouldn't be overly concerned I had similar from one or two of my creditors. It takes time to take legal action and you should be on your IVA by then, so don't worry.[:)][:)]
